23/9/2014 – With nitro cream becoming increasingly popular, it also becomes available in more places. It is also less surprising to know that there are places that not only serves nitro cream, but also enhance them. Ice Queen is a new nitro cream parlour that replaced a jewellery shop that enhances their nitro cream via giving them the toppings and ingredients required to replicate similar dessert counterparts.
The Chendol ($6.90) is a Salted Gula Melaka nitro cream that comes with sweet red beans, pandan jelly, attap seeds and coconut cream. The Salted Gula Melaka is great and tasted rich. The flavour gets more dense with the coconut cream. With the red beans, pandan jelly and the attap seeds, the rendition here does taste like the local dessert!
The Mango Sticky Rice ($6.90) is a mango and cream nitro cream that consists of coconut milk, sticky rice and fresh mangoes. Intrigued by what is the topping used, the staff said that it is mung beans! Crunchy as it tastes, it is a great compliment to the well flavored sticky rice and the mango nitro cream, which is sweet and rich in flavour, even richer than the Chendol’s Salted Gula Melaka!

Opening within an ideal location at East Coast (as it is opposite popular old school coffeeshop cum bakery Chin Mee Chin Confectionary, one can head over there to have a cup of Kopi and a slice of cake before coming over here to cool down), this place does seem to have its potential. If you are near the East Coast / Marine Parade / Joo Chiat area, you know where to get your nitro cream scoop!
