22/2/2014 – Located within Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar is a new coffee joint called One Man Coffee, which specializes in coffee and pastries. You must be thinking, won’t both businesses clash by operating in the same shop space? The answer is no, simply because Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar operates only for dinner, so One Man Coffee can operate during the day!
The blend used here is by Stranger’s Reunion. The Flat White ($5) tasted creamy and milky while not being too overpowering.
I felt that the French Toast ($10) here might have been named wrongly, as it doesn’t feel like one, but once you have had a mouthful of this you wouldn’t even mind the naming! The brioche toast is soaked in custard and is topped with blueberry jam, cream and walnuts. The brioche is soft and easily melts in your mouth after a bite, while bursting flavours of milkiness and sweetness. The walnuts provides the crisp in this, the cream enhances the creaminess and the blueberry jam enhances the sweetness, but both the cream and jam could be left out as it is great on its own.
Yet another place to come to if you are in the Thomson area, but do remember that it only opens in the day!
