J’s Wok And Grill – Block 527 Bedok North St 3

On 11/5/2013, I went with X to this restaurant at the north side of Bedok. It is operated by Jeewa and Jamiyah Singapore. As such, this is also a halal-certified restaurant.

This is one place to come to if you want to hold a banquet as the upper floor is catered to such services as well as having other facilities such as prayer rooms and etc.

The place feels rather cozy upon entering.

To start off firstly, X had a Café Mocha ($3.90) and I had a Root Beer Soda Float($3.90). The Café Mocha was not very good as it was bitter, with only a little amount of chocolate added into the drink.

Next off we had the Beef Fillet on Toast ($6.50). The beef fillet tastes minced instead of a fillet and the toast doesn’t feel crunchy, as though it was just minced beef on bread. Tastes good but no wow-factor into it.

X had the Chicken Cordon Bleu ($13.90). He recalled that the chicken doesn’t taste much of the cheese added, nor did it had much of ham either. The coleslaw and veggies taste normal.

I had the Thai Grilled Chicken ($12.90). The grilled chicken was rather well grilled and with the first bite without the sauce tastes like satay. The thai sauce is mildly spicy and sweet, and taste like any other thai sauce I’ve had before. No wow-factor. The carrots, cauliflower and corn were very plain though. It tasted like it was drenched into water without anything added. I had to gulp down my drink along with it.

We left rather disappointed and will probably only visit if there’s no other eateries operating around the place.
